HOPE for Down syndrome

Hello Again Friends!

Last week I painted LIVE at the C21 pop-up event here in Dallas sponsored by The National Down Syndrome Society and VOYA. I painted during the cocktails: the drinks. I had water. It was dark and loud, but I did it!

I called my painting Hope for Down syndrome. I love it! And you know I love to paint. I do it almost everyday in my art studio. I am an artist. It is my job. I hope that all people with Down syndrome can have jobs and love what they do.

Thank you friends!

From, Charlie French

Hello Friends!

I LOVE painting LIVE!  Thank you to Hazel and her family for hosting my art show and letting me paint LIVE.  I had so much fun!

If you want me to paint LIVE for you, let me know.  I bring my microphone, my speaker and my painting stuff.  I tell you about my painting steps: step 1, step 2, step 3 and lots more.  It is so cool!

Have a great day, Friends!

Love, Charlie French

Winter Art Shows

Hello Friends!

I have been in two art shows this winter.  One art show had a chocolate fountain!  Isn't that amazing?  The shows were sometimes a little loud, but it was OK.  I did a good job.

But all my original work is now sold!  So for the next two months I am going to work on two series and commissions.  And then in April I will show these paintings at my next show.  I will let everybody know when.

I am still taking Nancy's art classes.  I am having so much fun.  She is a good teacher.

Remember, if you need art, some of my pieces can be made into prints.  I will sell these at my art show too.  I don't think there will be a chocolate fountain there, but maybe a chocolate cake?

Thank you!  Charlie French

Thankful Every Day!

Hello Friends!

Sometimes I am very sad.  I have depression.  To help me I take medicine, workout, be with my friends and talk about what I am thankful for.

I have a thankful card on my dining-room table.  Every day I talk with my family about what I am thankful for.  Today it is four things:  my dog, Percy, swimming in the pool, hotels and American Airlines.

This makes me feel good.  Happy!  Try it!  If you like, you can order a card on my website.  I made a special painting called thankful just for the cards.

Have a wonderful day!

Nancy's Art Class

I have been taking an art class this Spring.

Nancy is my art teacher. She is an amazing teacher. I watch her videos on my iPad, and it is wonderful. I am learning about my art: Charlie's marks. I especially like lines, squares, and shapes. This summer I will keep working with Nancy and her videos to learn more about Me and My Art!

Getting Better!

Hello Friends!

For those of you who do not follow me on facebook, I broke my jaw.  First, I had oral surgery and that broke my jaw.  So, second, I had another surgery to fix my jaw.  It has been six weeks, and I have two more weeks to go before I can eat hamburgers.

My Dad makes me hamburger smoothies.  But I want a real one.

Today my doctor told me I can start using a straw again.  AWESOME!

I am still painting, so keep checking out my work and follow me on Instagram @justcharliefrench too!

Thanks!  Charlie

I'm Here!

Hello friends!

I am finally in my studio in Dallas, Texas!  I am working hard on lots of art projects: big abstract paintings, private commissions, a southwestern storm series and a bright abstract series of cards.  Stay tuned for some fun stuff!

Also I have uploaded a few new pieces on my website.  Let me know what you think!

Thanks!  Charlie French

My Art Show

My first art show was in Manchester, England.  I went with Will, Dad, Mom, Josie and Phil.  I liked seeing my paintings on the wall.

It is also a big week for me because I am moving to Dallas, Texas.  I will keep painting but my blog will take a break until fall 2016.  You can always email me though.  See you again soon!

The picture is of my brother, Will and my friend and fellow artist, Phil, looking at my art!

Spray paint

I have been learning to use spray paint this fall.  I love it!!!  My friend Phil is an amazing painter and is teaching me.  I have to wear a mask and gloves.  Paint has chemicals.  I hope you like my new work.  Happy Halloween!!!

Colors with Caroline

Last week Caroline and I painted together. We looked at art from famous artists. I practiced painting like Monet. I used these colors: 4 shades of blue, green, yellow, and white. I titled my painting 'Frog.'  I liked it - do you?
